RAZHVIZ also has its own branch located in the city of Perm. About 200 students study in the regional department; the teaching staff includes about 100 highly qualified teachers. The branch is currently headed by its famous graduate, artist M.V. Kaetkin.

Faculty of the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture

The first faculty that was opened at RAZhVIZ is dedicated to art history. The learning process for this area is based on close interaction between students and local artists. This course includes both special subjects and general humanitarian disciplines. Classes are carried out not only in the form of lectures in university classrooms, but also directly in museums and exhibitions. Students' practice is also carried out in real conditions.

2 years after its founding, a second faculty was opened at the Academy, in the direction of painting. It consists of 5 departments of fine arts, and the main task is to develop students’ artistic perception of the world around them. At the end of the 3rd year, students are assigned and assigned to art workshops.

In 1989, another faculty was opened at RAZhVIZ, this time dedicated to architecture; today its structure has two main departments:

  • architecture;
  • protection and restoration of cultural heritage.

The first department trains specialists involved in the design of buildings, public structures, and residential buildings. Students in this area often take part in city competitions and study the basics of architecture, graphics and drawing. At the end of each course, practical classes lasting 2 months are provided.

The second department is unique not only for Russian culture and science, but also for world universities of a similar focus. Practical classes of students are held every year at unique cultural sites; young people have an excellent opportunity to study real world artifacts and actively contribute to their restoration.

In 1990, the Faculty of Sculpture was opened at the university. The main focus of study here is on sculpture of antiquity and the Renaissance. During their studies, students copy models of famous authors, including Myron, Michelangelo, and Martos.

The last, fifth faculty at RAZhVIZ opened in 2002, it is dedicated to the restoration of painting. Training of specialists in this area was opened 10 years before the official appearance of the faculty.

The Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov is located within the sacred walls of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, the beginning of which dates back to 1843. The following people studied and taught there: A. Savrasov, A. Vasnetsov, M. Nesterov, I. Levitan, V. Serov, K. Korovin, S. Konenkov, A. Golubkina, F. Shekhtel and other great Russian artists.
In 1986, People's Artist of the USSR, professor, academician Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov revived this glorious educational institution, founding the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
The Academy considers its highest goals to be the revival of the great traditions of Russian and European fine art, defending the positions of high realism.
Date of creation:
On March 1, 1987, the Academy was opened as the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR dated 03.03.1987 No. 110 “On the opening of the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy in Moscow.”
The Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR was renamed the All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR dated September 30, 1988 No. 418.
Considering the great importance of fine arts and architecture in the revival of the spirituality of Russian society, by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of June 10, 1995 No. 585 “On the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture,” the All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture was transformed into the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and architecture
By Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated June 10, 2009 No. 465, the “Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture” was renamed into the “Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov”.
It was he, back in 1986, when perestroika was just beginning in the country, that Ilya Glazunov came up with the idea of creating a new art higher education institution, in which the realistic traditions of the Russian art school - the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture - would be revived. And accordingly, the question arose about returning the building of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at 21 Myasnitskaya Street, and housing the newly created All-Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in it.
The history of the Yushkov house continues.
The Academy building houses a museum, in the halls of which classes on copying are held for students of the faculties of painting, painting restoration, sculpture, and architecture. The academic museum includes a copy class, a graphics hall, an educational drawing room, a hall for educational paintings, and a hall of ancient Russian and folk art. The exhibitions feature antique works of domestic and Western European art (painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts), the best student works of RAZhViZ Ilya Glazunov from 1987 to 2015. The museum's collection consists of more than 5,000 items of storage of basic and methodological funds.
Today in the world there is only one educational institution, which, according to many cultural figures both here and abroad, preserves the traditions of the European and Russian school of high realism.
Nowadays, when most of the Academies of the world, under the onslaught of avant-gardeism, have lost the concept of “school”, which determines the level of high professionalism of the artist and the criteria of true art, the Academy affirms the principles of high skill, realism and spirituality, without which there can be no real great art.
Thus, the founding of the Russian Academy of Sculpture, Painting and Architecture by Ilya Glazunov has enormous cultural and historical significance for Russian art, as well as for preserving the best traditions of Russian culture in the future. The building itself, built in 1780-1790, which has undergone many changes, is also the cultural heritage of our city.

This Russian Academy of Painting and Sculpture was founded at the end of the last century, in 1987, by already well-known at that time, People's Artist of the USSR, Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov. It is he who, from the very beginning of the Academy’s activities to this day, has been its constant rector.

Ilya Glazunov began his teaching career at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Vasily Ivanovich Surikov, where he headed the portrait workshop. Subsequently, the students and associates of the outstanding artist became the main staff of the real Art Academy.

The Academy of Ilya Glazunov began to bear its current name on June 10, 2009.
Glazunov Academy located in several buildings at once, which are located right in the center of Moscow. These are houses that represent the historical value of the city. Namely, the “Yushkov House”, which was built in the eighteenth century by the architect Vasily Ivanovich Bazhenov and the famous “House of the Writers' Cooperative”, which is located in Kamergersky Lane.

Over the long, twenty-year period of its existence, Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture by Ilya Glazunov, can be proud that such outstanding personalities of artistic modernity as Alexander Trofimov, Boris Kokuev and Pyotr Litvinsky worked within its walls.

At different periods of time, Glazunov Academy, had the honor and is proud of its teaching staff, which included such famous artists as Dmitry Slepushkin, Viktor Shilov, Salavat Shcherbakov, Oleg Shtykhno, Anatoly Bichukov, Mikhail Shankov, Yakov Kupreyanov, Mikhail Shankov, Alexander Shilov, Leila Khasyanova, and many others .

Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, bases its teaching method on guiding its students towards an in-depth study of European and Russian heritage.

For example, after academy recruits complete their first year of training, Ilya Glazunov Academy they are sent to summer practice in St. Petersburg. The main tasks of students include the mandatory drawing of casts of the ancient era, in the Museum of the Academy of Arts and the execution of copies taken from paintings by old masters, in the famous museum of art paintings - the Hermitage.

Today, Ilya Sergeevich Glazunov is among the few teachers who organize trips for their students abroad. Thus, he is trying to revive the forgotten traditions of retirement of the Imperial Academy of Arts. Many of his students visited Spain and Italy, where they were able to see with their own eyes the unique and inimitable architecture of Venice, Florence and Rome, as well as appreciate the world-famous masterpieces of the Uffizi and Prado.
As a rule, the result of the teaching activities of Ilya Glazunov is a high level of skill and professionalism of his students.

To summarize, the conclusion suggests itself that this Academy was, is and will be an art institution that preserves, develops and constantly improves the established traditions of the European realistic art school.

THANK YOU so much for the very useful information in the article. Everything is presented very clearly. It feels like a lot of work has been done to analyze the operation of the eBay store

    • Thank you and other regular readers of my blog. Without you, I would not be motivated enough to dedicate much time to maintaining this site. My brain is structured this way: I like to dig deep, systematize scattered data, try things that no one has done before or looked at from this angle. It’s a pity that our compatriots have no time for shopping on eBay because of the crisis in Russia. They buy from Aliexpress from China, since goods there are much cheaper (often at the expense of quality). But online auctions eBay, Amazon, ETSY will easily give the Chinese a head start in the range of branded items, vintage items, handmade items and various ethnic goods.

What is valuable in your articles is your personal attitude and analysis of the topic. Don't give up this blog, I come here often. There should be a lot of us like that. Email me I recently received an email with an offer that they would teach me how to trade on Amazon and eBay.

  • It’s also nice that eBay’s attempts to Russify the interface for users from Russia and the CIS countries have begun to bear fruit. After all, the overwhelming majority of citizens of the countries of the former USSR do not have strong knowledge of foreign languages. No more than 5% of the population speak English. There are more among young people. Therefore, at least the interface is in Russian - this is a big help for online shopping on this trading platform. eBay did not follow the path of its Chinese counterpart Aliexpress, where a machine (very clumsy and incomprehensible, sometimes causing laughter) translation of product descriptions is performed. I hope that at a more advanced stage of development of artificial intelligence, high-quality machine translation from any language to any in a matter of seconds will become a reality. So far we have this (the profile of one of the sellers on eBay with a Russian interface, but an English description):
